Big decision for playing KVY... 17:24 - Mar 24 with 1060 viewswkj

Dear Paul...

If there is so much as a gnat's hair of a chance this could be risky - please don't.

If KYV comes back and produces football like he did when we signed - we need not take any risks.

Cheers... Not Paul.

To continue down my favourite topic how badly must Cook rate Woolfenden for him to consider KVY despite the latter barely playing for a year (yes, ok, different types of player etc)

Seriously, I completely agree - the last thing we need is a Skuse at Fleetwood performance or KVY to aggravate the injury.

See, this is the odd thing isn't it. Wolf and Lankester have shown good promise before, and against tougher teams- however, Cook is also hesitant to play them- so something must prompt that in training.

For my money, Wolfenden should go on loan nest season to play along side a good mentor, if he is just a back up option. He needs a solid partner, and Toto has enough on his plate trying to keep his zone covered, let alone an apprentice.

I’ll be shocked if we go into the new season with Nsiala and Wilson as the first choice centre back partnership. I wouldn’t be surprised if a new signing comes in and then Cook will choose someone to join them.

Woolfenden and Lankester have both suffered this season, Woolf from team selection making him a senior centre back alongside a 19 year old and Lankester hasn’t looked the same since injury.

I think he’ll look to bring in a left sided defender who can play full back or centre back as a starter in the team.

I do have to take a point away from Cook today - this was his first unforced error.

Woolf is now 22 & Town are in the 3rd division. If he isn't up to playing there we should get rid. Where do we loan him out?

I wasn't particularly clear - but if we are not going to routinely play him (if being the key word) he simply has to be getting game time from somewhere to develop. He has every chance of making it as a solid player, I truly believe that.
