Budget and the Americans 23:09 - Apr 12 with 842 viewscressi

Obviously want us in the championship as soon as possible. If which I believe, we will be in league 1 next season will it be freebies or will we pay fees and if so what do you think will be the highest fee we may pay

All depends who's out of contract elsewhere.

We shouldn't need to pay huge fees to get out of this league.

If we do pay fees I'd like to see it spent on the most promising young talent from L1 and L2, with potential to progress further in the championship.

Poll: Would Lambert have acheived better results than Cook if given the same resources

I’d like to see us go for predominantly younger players with the potential to play higher. Players who are hungry. Players who have good character and want to be here. There has to be a bit of balance of course.

I’d love to see an end to recruiting has beens, injury prone, bad characters, journeymen desperation signings of the past few years. Other clubs recruit better than we do (e.g. Peterborough). It’s one of many areas that’s fallen away and needs investment. There is an awful lot of work to do in a short space of time in so many areas. I get a sense that the Chairman recognises that in a way Evans never did.
