The raw numbers are not that high, but they seem to relate mostly to highly-paid positions. Supporting those positions will be back office functions which will naturally move in future. And then there is the knock-on impact of less spending in bars, restaurants, shops, cabs, etc etc. The drain from the City has started and won't be reversed. It was reported last week that London's population is down by 700,000 over the last two years - mostly people who have gone back home (domestic and international), mostly due to covid, but the international ones won't be coming back due to Brexit. That is one heck of a financial loss, short-term, medium-term and long-term.

Project here (and now)!

You are putting out Fact News

Where is the balance ?

Why no comment from Nigel, Jacob or Ian ? Why have you edited out the bits about sunny uplands, the easiest deals and tariff-free goods ?

What about the new millionaires in Cornwall and Hull ? The farmers relieved of the burden of having to harvest their crops ? Hauliers benefitting from longer rest breaks at ports ?
