I've been reading through the various threads today and have to say, I don't think anyone's getting anywhere they want to go. There's been some points I like, some points I don't, some stirring the pot, and some dodging the issue.
I'm still relatively new here, so I don't feel able to really comment on the historical arguments that get dredged up in these kind of things. It wouldn't be right for me to make a judgement on these past provocations, I don't know the ins and outs, nor do I really care to.
I welcome political discussion but maybe we need to have a pause and come back to it with a more constructive attitude. We surely won't all see eye to eye, and it surely won't last, but it is surely a worthwhile pursuit.
With that in mind, why don't we down tools for a bit, stop fighting 'My War', dissolve the 'Atmosphere', and 'Take Five'.

You think the political discussions are bad, just wait till you get involved in a musical one - though your username and choices of tune below show excellent musical taste, so I don't think you'll have any trouble on that score from me! :-)

You've got footers onside straight away there - though there will be the "M" issue that has to be faced at some point...
Ahh I've seen the Morrissey thing come up from time to time. Well I've always been a fan of The Smiths and I enjoy at least some of his solo stuff, although I really haven't properly listened to anything since Ringleader of the Tormentors. I very much enjoy this one from my youth:
With regards to his views, well... I'm a big Stone Roses fan and Ian Brown exposed himself as an idiot this last year and I still give his stuff a listen!
