Cook's previous record 08:39 - Aug 29 with 878 viewshype313

Looking back on Cook's previous promotions I do wonder if the dynamics have changed his mindset regarding the levels of investment he has been given.

When you look at his history, his success certainly seems to stem from the fact to that he builds teams with the ethos of strong unity, a siege mentallity approach with limited funds and I'm wondering if he is struggling due to the fact that he has been given investment only clubs could dream of for League One. Has this completely different set up changed how he approaches his philosophy? I desperately want him to succeed but he categorically needs wins and fast.

And whilst I appreciate his previous successes, we do have short memories on here when it comes to getting managers with promotion on thier CV's, Keane came in due to Sunderland, Jewell came in due to Wigan, Mick had a knack of getting teams out, Lambert got Norwich and Colchester promoted and now we have Cook. Obviously we're not going to employ managers with relegations on thier record, but equally, we're probably getting a bit tired hearing about previous successes.

Either that or we're just a jinxed club.

I'm starting to think along the same lines.

I think it’s more to do with the judgement of Evans in making managerial appointments. Let’s not forget it was him that appointed Cook.

In fairness, Cook has been one of the most outstanding managers in terms of achievement at League One/League Two over recent years. And the form Wigan showed at and just after they got hit with the points deduction suggested that he was starting to get it together at Championship level too. On paper, he made perfect sense and I was grateful to get him. But he's bungled the job terribly so far.
