Carey is a decent keeper, which is all Paine ever was. As a batter, he has a Gilchrist-like danger for England.
Having said that, Gilchrist batted at 7 behind one of the best top 6s ever seen in test cricket. 3 of the current Aussie top 6 are unproven, to say the least. | | | |
