Is there a reason we never seem to do them at the start of a season? Obviously it could end up being a disaster if we were thrashed in the first 3 games, but as a way of building momentum a ticket promotion for Bolton which could get us 28,000+ would be amazing if we got a win.
Is there a rule or is there just too much demand for the early matches (after months of no football/early season optimism) for it to be useful?

26,000 for a dead rubber against Charlton for the last game of last season suggests they won't need to offer discounts for the Bolton game to get a decent crowd
