We shall see a lot of these away team tactics this season 22:36 - Aug 9 with 541 views3_5_2

Col U has a plan to deny space behind, pack the box and hopefully sneak something (aided and assisted by a horrendous pass by Harper)

Then it begins. Time wasting, faking injury, sub after sub taking forever to go off/ come on

We might get a more open game v the likes of Derby, Sheff Weds etc but a lot of the other teams will come here for the draw and play just like they did tonight.

Unless we score first, we seem to run out of ideas and whilst I think we need another striker (one who can header goals too) we need to find a way to unlock packed defences

The lack of goals is not just a case of getting a striker in.

I do agree we need another striker. But even then I can still see the same issues regarding chance creation. Ladapo, Jackson, Norwood, Hirst - couldn’t see any of them scoring for us tonight.

WE can't blame the other team for tactics we can't control. We blame ourselves for not knowing how to break teams down when this happens, and for not having players who can score goals. How many opportunities did we have before they scored? 5? 6? And would they then park the bus or waste time at 1 down?
Yes, we need a striker, and we have one. Sadly he is now at Portsmouth for the season. We lose Bonne, get rid of Norwood, and give Jackson another contract, someone who is scoring roughly 1 in 6. He should have kept Pigott and played to his strengths just like AFC Wimbledon did, and Portsmouth are now. McKenna is an unproven manager, and with 3 games in to the season, do you honestly see us finishing in the top 6 with this squad?
