Hirst No way 10:01 - Aug 16 with 1123 views | cressi | Are Leicester going to release him on a free like his been mentioned . Like taking your old car to a dealer And saying il pay what you want and you can have my car for free. They will want back some of the money invested in him. Personally if he comes OK if not I'm sure we will find as good that's if we are even in for him The club may even have set a trap so all the journalists think we are but never was.

Hirst No way on 11:27 - Aug 16 with 851 views | bluestandard | I read somewhere yesterday that it was because he was on a high wage (£15k/wk) that they would look to release him from his contract because he wasn't going to get that wage from anyone in the Champ/League 1, and that this was stalling moving him on. There is a lot of conflicting stuff out there though, and it changes on a daily basis, so I'm going to sit back now and wait for something concrete!

Contracts run until the end of June don't they? So that's 46 weeks remaining on his deal. Even if he is on that extortionate wage we're apparently offering at least £1.5m which would be enough to pay his contract up and give Leicester £800k profit so it would seem unlikely. Yes but that’s assuming that a club agrees a wage with Hirst. If Hirst is holding out for £15k/wk and noone will pay that, the deal is dead. Transfer fee is irrelevant. So would LCFC simply forego some of the transfer fee to prop up the deal? Bear in mind that he will be offered a deal over 3 years minimum so a contribution to bring the overall wages commitment for the buying club down to £10k/wk over 3 years would be about £780k (£5k x 52wks x 3yrs). The numbers start to look very similar to what would happen if the player was released from his contract.
