EU law removal 17:56 - Nov 8 with 362 viewsHARRY10

Yet another U-Turn (see Boris's loony idea for a £250m yacht*)

This time it is the absurdity that is the stick insect Rees-Moggs retarded idea plan to remove all EU law' with one Act of Parliament. Akin to removing one eggs from a cooked omelette it has been likened to.

Having over 70 civil servants engaged on this has meant the inevitable problems have arisen. Not least the idea of removing environmental safe guards, as well as stuff like a ban on roaming charges and removing compensation for flight delays.

Any wonder "the timetable appears in doubt Rishi Sunak abandoned his own promise to complete a review of exiting retained EU law within 100 days"

And as part of the GFA, those laws, regulations, standards etc will have to be retained by NI. So 70 people are currently engaged on something that will inevitably be quietly shelved.

"it is not the only project proposed by Mr Johnson that has failed to come to fruition.

Three others, the bridge linking Northern Ireland to Scotland, “Boris Island” airport and Garden Bridge, were also ditched after millions of pounds of taxpayers’ cash was spent on them.

In total the four failed projects have cost the taxpayer £51.4m"
