Thoughts after the whistle 17:02 - Jan 28 with 1443 views | TalkingBlues | we were the better side IMO and had we started a normal league 11, probably would have won that game. Disappointing not to get a result one way or the other, could do without a trip to Burnley. Leigh - way too good to be an understudy in League 1, good going forward, good defensively, strong as an ox and wins every header, including the ones he shouldn't, unlike Davis, who loses virtually every header and is more suspect than Leigh defensively. Luongo - should have started the game, looks comfortable and strong, but needs more minutes. JD - has had a very good game, but he is definitely going to be second choice now to Clarke. Harness - runs around a lot, but lacks any sort of quality at passing, crossing, finishing and gets pushed off the ball by every player that challenges him, had a great first few games for us, but has been a different player since, just hasn't regained that form. Hirst - did some good stuff, but is way too isolated, needs midfielders/forwards to get closer to him. Hladky - looks better than Walton on current form [Post edited 28 Jan 2023 17:05]

Don't think we would concede late goals with Luongo on the pitch felt no messing there

Supported by excellent performances by Vlad, defenders and midfield offered defensive cover enabling us to keep most of the game in the mid and attacking thirds. A trip to Burley will allow the squad to continue gaining minutes and testing themselves against high quality opposition Davis is part of a defensive group in top 3 and is a real attacking threat, assists, corners and a goal recently Harness is still only a few games back following several months out and is now able to share minutes with strong rotation options Hirst is a different player and hasn’t played a lot this season, 4-6 games and he should be match sharp and that is time for others to better understand his game and support how he plays Vlad has done really well coming in and out, was MOTM and is a decent number two at this level. Good that his form will keep Walton on his toes.
