And when Paris scored, a few of their players congratulated the scorer, nothing unusual...but the Marseilles stewards, like 3 of them quickly run to protect them from missiles, holding up riot shields.

Knew the French had had crowd problems this year, but never seen players needing such protection.

I went to PSG v Marseille a few years ago, not realising it was the equivalent of maybe ManU v Leeds, but edgier.

I got my ticket off a tout and found myself right behind the PSG ultras. They are hard. At 0-2, around 100 of them tried to scale the perimeter fence to invade the pitch. About a dozen succeeded, and got absolutely battered by riot police. They got taken away by medics, rather than arrested on the spot...

Went to a few when I was in Paris. Was genuinely a horrible atmosphere. My girlfriends father was a season ticket holder and often used to drag me along. I always used to want PSG to lose.

I took him to PR. He loved it. He couldn't believe how loud the crowd was, and even though we lost, how supportive the crowd was. Also that even though there were no fences supporters didn't run onto the pitch.
