So given the UK record of taking years to conclude public inquries, is it reasonable of Oakshott and the Telegraph to publish Hancock's whattsapp messages now?
I reckon so, but can see why Hancock is peeved that messages he submitted to the inquiry should be published in this manner.
Public interest should overide an individual's rights where the questions at hand are so important imho. But can see why people may disagree...

I don't there is any objection to what could be said to be the action of whistle blowers.
There is a secondary issue of whether the Telegraph has an agenda, and is perhaps twisting things.
But the counter-argument to that is that it has brought the issue out into the public domain earlier than would otherwise be the case, and maybe we will get to the truth quicker than would otherwise have been the case.
But in an ideal world we would have already completed the inquiry, particularly if there are lessons to be learned. |  | | |
