Our January additions 18:07 - Mar 18 with 1320 views | gtsb1966 | have improved us so much. Think back to some of the dross we signed in panic over the last few years. My brain is an alcoholic mush at the moment so remind me of some of the rubbish January signings we've had to endure over the last 20 years.

It was nerving at the start with the likes of luongo not being selected and Broadhead being managed ( their previous injury records weren't kind) but it's been great to have them available every week. And as long this is something that can continue then great.

I was thinking about the players Lambert signed from Preston and Barnsley. Absolute dross
Our January additions on 18:19 - Mar 18 with 1134 views | Illinoisblue | It’s staggering how much more measured our transfer dealings are now. We identify areas that need strengthening, find a player that fits and go sign them. Sounds simple and obvious but under Cook and Lambert it was mostly a revolving door of utter crap.

tbf to cook, most of his signings have done well. those with previous links to him (chaplin/morsy/walton/evans/burgess?) have been very good indeed. with such a big churn, you're bound to get some failures, but they were more the signngs linked to the club (harper/fraser/pigott) even though they looked great on paper

Maybe those hot takes on players should be more considered than hyperbole in the future?

Not at all, I comment in the moment, and how I see things at that time. Thankfully, it's been a great run recently, lots of positive performances and consistent performances which is all I ever wanted to see from key players, and of the new signings as said, at the time, Luongo who has turned into a key player, wasn't even making the 18. At present, everything is going well, it will be painful if we miss out on Auto's due to that 3 month blip, but we can't do anything about that now, we've dragged ourselves back into the mix which is all we can ask for.

well yeah exactly, how can you make a judgement on a player who's new to a team and area and decide they aren't up to it after a few games. What you see at the time is a very narrow window, these players we've got in might not work long term but so far they've settled in well and are helping us and the signs are positive but it's not as black and white as you say it in your hot takes. Take a more considered view and stop making yourself silly. Quite a few on here don't respect your opinion because of the randomness, quickness of your views and it doesn't help you. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Luongo and Broadhead again at the time weren't in the side or in broadheads, was in then out etc, that's what i spoke of and the thoughts of fans of their previous clubs. So that i stick by. Clarke, I said i liked on his debut and following games, so that's another I didn't judge negatively. Hirst was the only one I didn't really see what he was signed for, but only because we loaned one out to loan him in. So no I don't regret any comments made 2 months ago.
