It would be fantastic to have similar at Portman Road. I was sad that there wasn't a clamour for a statue for Paul Mariner, as there had been for Kevin Beattie, although if we did have a crowd of statues then really Ted Phillips and Ray Crawford should be next. Then: Mills Wark Mariner Muhren Thijssen Burley Butcher Maybe Steve McCall and Roger Osborne would be next? I personally think it is sad that we wait until players have died, too. Imagine how proud Kevin Beattie would have been of his statue if it had been there in his lifetime!

Always think Millsy is overlooked and as you say wouldn't it be great to give somebody a statue in their lifetime? He still lives in the area and is a regular on BBC Suffolk's football commentary. He was our ever present captain during out most iconic times , FA Cup , EUFA Cup , First Division runner-up: 1980—81, 1981—82 and Second Division: 1967—68. Not to mention he's an MBE and England International and captain. Surely he's due a statue at some time. Why not while he's alive!
