At the start of the game we looked good on the counter. When we scored then went close I thought ‘hello, is the sun ever going to set?’. It did Leeds’ quick fire goals seem to arrive with ease. Mistakes individually and collectively. I was praying for half time. Then a screw up for Leeds, initiative on our part and we are in. 3-2. Second half, we had a good 20 mins plus, but Leeds fourth killed us. Overall, they were the better, more powerful team. It felt like every battle/50-50 was won by them, it felt we had possession in front of them and at times was all a bit laboured. At the back? Three goals in no time says it all. We looked all over the shop on on more than one occasion. The players: Lladky - made some good stops. Not seen the goals back but from a long way away for two he looked unconvincing. Davis - a good player. Didn’t do much wrong as usual Clarke - looked vulnerable but better than Donacien going forward. Burgess and Woolfy - ok but they’ve played better. Burns - I thought he played well. Got behind Leeds. Luongo. Not his best game. Morsy - never gave the ball away. Our best player. Broadhead - unimpressed. Snuffed out. He will have better days Chaplin - also snuffed out. Nicely taken goal though Jackson. Ran his heart out. Did ok, but he’s no Hirst. The subs? Didn’t really help. In fact Leeds scored the match ending goal when they came on, not that Clarke and co weren’t knackered. Overall, they gave 100%. You actually cannot ask for more than that. The PlayStation brigade will think otherwise, but the reality is you cannot win every game. That’s sport. I thought we missed Hirst in particular though. Walton too. In my view we deservedly lost. Disappointing. But I think there is stuff to learn and we will get better. I note their centre forward cost more than our entire team. On that, we do need another/better forward option. We should not lose sight of where we were and where we are and how much progress has been made. Big picture. This is just my immediate reaction/view and I’ll be interested in seeing what others have to say. COYB! [Post edited 26 Aug 2023 20:05]

A good understudy but if he can't keep hold of a ball or claim them then understudy he is. Davis.. OK.. didn't feel we got the best of him going forwards. Didn't do well enough for their goal. Regardless of keeper. You own it unless he does. Wolfy and Burgess. Both managed the game well enough. Both not good enough for the first goal but will learn from it...Burgess needs to stop ignoring a free davis on the left. Clarke.. could tell early he wasn't 100%. Showed. He's almost playing at 70% capacity it seems. Sloppy with ball and not good enough on 2 of their goals Morsy.. good in the tackle. Bit slow and ponderous attacking, didn't seem to know what to do with the ball Luongo.. hussled well. But something was off with his partnership with broadhead and davis today. Broadhead.. felt he had a bit of Harness about him.. kept running into players hoping the ball fell to him kindly. Should have scored a 2nd or at least passed to a free chappers. Chappers. Unsure if KM instruction but played to deep. We need him around the box. Chappers away from the box isn't helpful. Burns.. pace used well. But continues to lack a consistent end product. Being composed slows him down. Smashing it goes anywhere. There's no consistency. Jackson. Did what was expected. Ran well. Was a nuisance and pulled leeds defenders everywhere. Harness.. sub. Didn't think much but didn't see much wring either. Williams.. felt sorry for him worse ball to have to try and deal with when playing first minutes for a year. Can't see I noticed him much after that. Ladapo.. didn't feel he offered us anything when he came on. Feel he slows us down to much and disrupts the flow. Taylor.. liked his directness and control. Think he will start playing more minutes.

First goal, Woolfenden should be doing better and between them, him, Morsy and Burgess must stop Rutter striking that ball and walking through them. For second goal That cross was right in the corridor of uncertainty it was a great cross to be fair as it is the exact kind you want to cause indecision. For me Hladky looks like he is going to come for it but he's then took a few steps back to cover the header from Rutter that Burgess holds off that I'd say he's worried he won't get to the ball before but then Davis who should be covering Gnotto at the back post, despite being ahead of Gnotto and should easily be first to the ball, he has made no real attempt to cut that out. He has to be owning that. No doubt Hladky is to blame for the third, he has to be holding that or pushing it into an area that is not full of danger. Fourth one is a foul on Morsy, but Williams has a truly brutal introduction to this league, honestly thought he was going to bring his man down. [Post edited 26 Aug 2023 21:30]

Yeah that's what I mean. Either the keeper is claiming that or as the defender you own it until he wipes you out himself ala Hladky v donacien. Davis shouldn't be losing that battle. I can understand why he did as he thought hladky was coming but you just can't do that. Lesson learned.
