The 'off the ball' stuff he and Morsy do is excellent. [Post edited 26 Oct 2023 10:41]

Again, this time for aspiring coaches. Playing out from the back is very much more than just keeping possession. By encouraging the opposition to press (in this clip three Brizzle players press), you often create space you can utilise further up the pitch. In this example, because the press wasn't followed by the wider Brizzle team - space was created ahead of our defenders that we can exploit. Playing out from the back, rightly invites the press and you then look to exploit the space it creates.

Also shows why we really need another Hirst. His involvement in dropping into the 10 pockets is so important.

Plymouth were the best pressing team against Town I saw last season, they closed the space we use very well and the had obviously done a lot of work on this, but Town have improved and last night was an example of how close we want opposition players to be and exploit the space this gives. I thought Nigel Pearson was very good in his preparation and it is player quality Bristol need to focus on not wasting money on a new manager, if he is under a pressure that is. But that is only on our game, City fans may have a different view.
