Imagine us all being told at that point, Marcus Evans wouldn’t be around much longer, however in just Six and a half years we would rise Two leagues back to the Premier, have arguably the best young English coach/ manager in charge, be at the same bidding table as Everton, West Ham, Crystal Palace and having just signed a young exciting Chelsea prospect for in excess of £20 million.
Away from the field, there would be extensive plans to modernise the training ground and stadium which has already seen a complete new pitch relaid.
It’s still hard to appreciate how far this club has come in a relatively short period.
