Just realised we could be close to a semi realistic starting lineup with just 2 players from the promotion side (1 being Omari who was on loan of course). I say semi realistic as I still see Morsy as a mainstay, Burns when fit, and I think Tuanzebe will have something to say about the right back position, but hard to argue over too much of the rest. Also leaves Szmodics out of course.

I can see why people are seeing it as a bit of a championship dream team given that's largely where we've recruited from, but I think that's in part necessity from a financial perspective (not just fees but wages), and the profiles are (with the exception of Szmodics perhaps) young players who as you say hopefully have a ceiling higher than the Championship.
I'm pretty bullish about our chances. Perhaps not against the City / Liverpool / Arsenal's of the division but we need to be realist about that. I think we'll cause most teams a few problems though and pick up points once we're in our stride. | | | |
