Although, in terms of protecting the big clubs, I was pleasantly surprised to see that UEFA have stopped the repecharge format, with third-placed teams in the group phases (or their new-format equivalent) dropping down into the next-tier competition. At least the Europa League will now be won by an UEL qualifier, rather than a UCL team on a second chance. |  |
