Camera position has nothing to do with the level of crowd noise you can hear, they have microphones placed around the stadium. Not like they’re filming it on an iPhone!
Dunno about you, but I’ve found that ESPN’s broadcasts usually have the sound balance set up so that the microphones around the away end come through disproportionately loud. Always hear the away fans singing but rarely hear the home support, even when you can sort of tell there’s a good atmosphere in the ground. |  |

Filming it on a phone would have made for a better experience! Whatever the setup there is, it’s horrendous.
