Subs 09:30 - Nov 25 with 588 views | ringwoodblue | Last year we had the midfield and attacking subs to make a real impact and change the outcome of games but this season, it’s apparent that our subs are not really improving our chances of winning matches and in reality are reducing our goal threat. I know Hirst is injured, Taylor has only just returned from a lay-off and we are managing game time to reduce further injuries to key players but yesterday we looked much poorer when Delap, Szmodics and Cajuste came off. Thankfully the ManU subs didn’t really have any impact either so it didn’t make much difference to the result but we really do need a few upgrades in Jan and I’m confident Ashton will make it happen if suitable players are available. Problem is, we need to pick up some wins before Jan as draws won’t keep us up. [Post edited 25 Nov 2024 9:31]

Subs on 09:56 - Nov 25 with 499 views | Churchman | No, they’re not impacting in the way last seasons subs did. With Hirst, Phillips, Ogbene, Broadhead, Johnson etc out, that’s a heck of a hit on McKenna’s options. With the step up in quality in the PL and the resources at our disposal (FFP) there’s a limit to what we could do in the summer to bridge the gap. 12 players in was a lot but our squad was always going to be light. Of the subs, I thought Taylor did alright. AAH, see other thread. Jack Clarke, still finding his feet and hopefully better fitting shorts! Chaplin was busy as always. Great character. | | | |
