Sudan on 15:50 - Dec 16 by bluejacko | It is truly shocking and GB bought this up in another thread I believe, but as it hasn’t got Isreal anywhere in the story not many will seem to care! |
That is a rather simplistic take. After all, the war in Ukraine has had plenty of coverage and public concern, and Israel isn't involved at all. When it comes Sudan, I think there are two aspects which means it gets little coverage in the media, the second of which is I think the most important. First, it is a civil war, Second, there are no Western interests or countries involved. And if the conflict doesn't get any coverage, no wonder the public doesn't care because the public are in the main blissfully (not the right word) unaware. The main external player is the UAE, who support the Rapid Support Force, and given the UK has friendly relations with the UAE, this is an interesting story of government attempts to suppress criticism of the UAE's involvement. https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/article/2024/jun/24/uk-allegedly- [Post edited 16 Dec 2024 20:56]
