Being in the home end for away games 19:42 - Jan 5 with 1244 viewsblueysbackside

Managed not for the first time this season to get tickets for the home end for an Ipswich game
Always an interesting experience
Same things always crop up…in no partucular order:
1) the grounds are soulless with very little chanting or hostility
2) the sense of entitlement at Arsenal/Tottenham/Fulham/W Ham is unbelievable. Plucky old Ipswich turn up from the Champo and we should thrash them 4 or 5-0.
3) refereeing standards aren’t a huge upgrade on the Champo
4) players seem so much more street smart than us. Is this a Prem thing? I’m talking about dark arts and killing games off. I think that’s 20 or so points from winning positions we’ve dropped
5) our fan base is amazing and have outsung the home lot almost everywhere I’ve been this season

We were in the home fans in the Putney end. They are so quiet. My son said “who’d want to support such a soulless club”. Proud of our fans. Never stopped.

Recognised a few Town fans sitting at the front of the upper part of the new stand nearest the Town fans. Was quite amusing watching them when we scored having to “contain” themselves
