Just a stat & not a dig. 18:35 - Jan 19 with 622 views | ITFC_History | Today's result was as far as I am aware equalled our biggest ever home defeat. We also lost by the same scoreline in 2002. The most goals we have ever conceded game at home was against Manchester United on the 3rd September 1963 where we lost 7-2. Denis Law scored a hat-trick that day.
Just a stat & not a dig. on 18:50 - Jan 19 with 511 views | Sibelius8 | Ipswich 2 Manchester United 7. I was there, near the front of Churchmans Stand. I remember it well (though I was only 10) especially the warm-up when Law and Charlton passed to each other with back-spin - trying to get the ball to come back to them - and having a right laugh at their efforts. That game was, to my young eyes, incredibly exciting. And Ipswich played well for much of the game. The home crowd also admirably cheered the United goals as our opposition that day played with such genuine flair and skill. What a game it was!

The next match following that was Southampton at home with that embarrassing goal from Marsden. Pity we have Liverpool again in that sequence.
