The worst thing for me today was... 22:21 - Jan 19 with 1132 viewsRIPbobby

The manager did like for like subs. Surely he could see the system we used was well beaten. City looked like they studied us well. They new when we wander down a dead end we switch flanks. They picked us off twice doing that second half. Clarke's pass and I'm not sure the other one.

I think I'd have removed Clarke for Townsend and pushed Davis forward for a change. And perhaps put 3 in the middle of the park.

Agree but as some would say, KM has only has 2 full seasons as a manager and is still learning. Got a bl00dy big pay rise for a learner though.

Veni Vidi Participatur. Now we can get back to competing.

What exactly could he have realistically changed that would've made any difference?

Just beaten by a side that was far too good for us.

And a manager and his tactical support staff that were far too good for us too

It helps when you've got a striker that's probably earning more than our whole squad combined to start with

The reason KM didn't do what you would have done is because he's still learning? 😂 That some confidence.

I wouldn't know what I would have done but I would hope a man deemed to be worth the salary increase he got would. Ashton decided to give him a massive pay increase and extended contract to stop him going to Brighton rather than bring in a new experienced coach, probably like most of the PL, not domestic. There must be a reason other than rewarding 2 runner-up promotions.

Presumably you would have implemented the OP's thoughts that you agreed with.

We don't have KM's thoughts available to us, but we do know that one manager had a vastly superior squad available to them than the other. It isn't a remotely fair contest to judge them from. In a chess match, one grand master would destroy the other on every occasion in an equivalent board situation, no matter the tactical approach that was used.

I would expect KM's thoughts on tactical changes involve more lines / permutations / analysis than the average forum user or spectator. The idea that he just isn't as experienced as you or anyone else on here is funny.
