I imagine it’s to force Boro’s hand as a makeweight in a potential Latte Lath swap plus cash. Cancelling his loan now means that they are without potentially their best performing defender for the rest of the season, and focuses the mind more.
He can’t play for any other club this season, and as much as I love him, he won’t get in ahead of O’Shea or Greaves, so Id assume this is the case, rather than bringing him back to warm the bench for the rest of the season. | | | |

I'm hoping after the Liverpool game we see some stability in the defensive line up. We've had a few decent defensive performances and some good individual ones too. Think some continuity would help so can't see Edmundson coming in to play. | | | |
