Just another thread on the gap between the PL and Championship 21:21 - Mar 16 with 1179 views | Miaow | Reading this from the BBC Live Text is rather depressing. Seriously, will any of the 17 be worse than the three promoted sides in 2025–26? I had wondered if Brentford would eventually struggle but they still seem pretty solid. As do Palace. Another season of the promoted three going down would just makes things worse as the established clubs continue to solidify themselves and develop their squads. It's all pretty grim.

Players that the newly promoted clubs need just won't go there, why would they. The only hope is that one or more of the teams coming up produces a number of really outstanding youngsters and/or plays the overseas market brilliantly, combined with one or more of the established sides having a mare of a season/pick a terrible manager.

You’d have to offer silly money. We really had to stay up this season to really stand much of a chance to establish ourselves, but as ever with Ipswich we are never that lucky.
