As usual, 100 degrees, what feels like the entire population shoved into inadequate space, vague delay announcements , standing room only on the train, driver's voice cutting out every two seconds, and all this for price equivalent to GDP of a small country.
And the only alternative to this crushed by 'sensible' moderates.
This country.
Oh well, away dayz are back.

A horrific experience far too often. Always feels pure pot luck whether my train home will be as scheduled or not.
I do know someone involved in a major study as to why the experience is so bad etc, so hopefully one day (probably after I’ve retired) it’ll be sorted out |  |

I went to Euston for the first time in years about a year ago. I hadn't seen how they've shrunken it. It's awful. Too overcrowded when there are delays. And that outdoor square is a grim place to hang out in the heat. |  | | |

I was there the week before last. It’s an odd station. People crammed in that rubbishy side bit before the platform comes up then the crush to get on the platform when it eventually shows. Birmingham New St is little better. Dingy with confusing platforms.
Still, at least it has Ozzy the bull (2022 Commonwealth Games) to cheer people up. |  | | |

Train should be the best way to travel around the country.
But decades of massive infrastructure under-investment, resulting in an awful network and frequently delayed / cancelled trains which cost an absolute fortune means it isn’t. |  |
