A couple of clear and straightforward opportunities to do it tonight and we didn't take them and it's been similar in other matches. Totally agree.
I've had this disagreement with a guy who sits near me. He moans Hirst is offside, but thats because he has made the run expecting the ball through and its not played. That means he has to come back on side.
Hirst this season has had to play with his back to goal 90% to get the ball, whereas in the last championship season he played 50% on the front foot receiving the ball in front of him to run onto.

There’s absolutely nothing spontaneous in our play anymore. It’s all heavily scripted… build , SLOWLY, from the back, even if a man is making a run ahead into aches of space ( Nunez 2nd half!!!), and could be away if only SOMEONE would ping him the ball…no…it’s Build SLOWLY from the back! |  |

I see so many comments (on this thread and others) that just fail to understand this. Comparisons with the 23/24 are not fair when teams largely came at us and commited men forward. It's a different challenge that requires a different way of playing. |  | | |
