Bob Houghton - assistant under Sir Bobby? 15:54 - Nov 27 with 472 viewssoupytwist

There's an article in The Guardian today about the Malmo team that Forest beat in the European Cup Final in 1979.

In it, the normally reliable Jonathan Wilson mentions that the Malmo manager, Bob Houghton, had spent some time as assistant to Sir Bobby at Town. I've never heard Houghton mentioned as being part of the staff during SBR's time. Can anyone shed any more light on this?

It's also mentioned in this older article about Dulwich Hamlet - https://thehamlethistorian.blogspot.com/2010/07/croydon-globetrotters.html maybe that's Wilson's source.

The Men Who Made The Town says he joined in 1972, taking over the youth team, succeeding Bobby Ferguson who had moved up to the reserves.

I assume he didn't have much if any first-team involvement, given that he was at Malmo by 1974.

He was here, bit not for very long, if I remember rightly. I seem to recall he was the link between Sir Bob and Sven when Sven came over and sat on the Town bench as a young manager.
