I wasn't sure at first, but now I think Nunez was an absolute bargain. 08:10 - Dec 11 with 3035 viewsNthQldITFC

Thank you Norwich City.

We'll keep half an eye on you for any other players you might not be able to hang on to.

It must be bittersweet, but we're happy to admit that you can also feel a little bit proud that you have provided a very good player to East Anglia's premier football club. Whack it in the programme honours list, we don't mind.

Nunez is almost playing a bit of a free role between striker and midfield and it's glorious. He's intelligent enough to do it tio (backing midfield up where needed).

Complete night and day to Akpom playing in that position.

His part in the goal was superb, the quick 1-2 with Philogene created the space needed.

Norwich haven't put a foot wrong this year.

I'm thinking they may even take some points off Southampton for us this weekend.

Must admit when he signed I knew he was bringing quality, but there was a question in my head as to whether he’s got enough dog in him. These last few performances have allayed any such fears, he really does work his nuts off and he’s a fit lad as well. A proper ‘technician’ but with that work rate to match, which is a bit of a rare find. He’s a heck of a player and getting the best out of him is going to go a long way to determining our fate this season.

I don't see them being quite as accommodating with other sales to us. Nunez wasn't signing another contract and he had a year to run on the current contract.
I do believe at £10 million he was a bargain even then.
Not very often that you can praise the Budgies. I'll make an exception in this case.

That is a pleasing aspect to me as well, I was expecting cameos and then going quiet for a while, as Walle Egeli tends to, but he is on it the whole match. Don't know if it is a South American thing, but their guys do have good motors. Rarified air or something.

Sadly I think they will get battered.

And when I say "sadly" that might be a bit strong.

The only thing I would question about him is his decision making at times. Last night in the 1st half we broke quickly and he decided to shoot from distance when he had the opportunity to play other players in who were in a better position.
However, no doubt he will be a key player for us in our quest to continue climbing the league table.

His range of passes is superb, his vision to spot those passes is even better, the long pass to Leif which lead to the Blackburn equaliser, then the quick short pass back to Jayden last night, he is now performing at a much level than when he first arrived. Thank you Norwich.

We’re getting the best out of him now in this role. Norwich played him much deeper, but his pressing is a little too kamikaze to play in our deep roles for me.

Only Jaden has more goals and assists…

What has amused me recently is the amount of times you see him deep in conversation with a teammate or the referee given that he never bothered to learn English according to them.

Truly impaired.

I wonder if Ashton will look at formalising something with Norwich as our feeder club next season? Might be a good arrangement when we're in the premier league to have a local league 1 side to send young players out to for lower league experience.

When the team went into the huddle before the game, Nunez had a cheeky smile on his face and he was clearly sharing a joke with Davis.

Was great to see.

You are not wrong, but I like that he tries stuff. As for shooting, I don’t mind a player having a go.

The back heel to Egeli who then swung the ball across the pitch to feet was a thing of beauty. Blink of an eye, half Stoke’s team left for dead.

He is a terrific player. Always positive always trying to move the ball forward. Must be a grade a pain in the a**e to play against.

I think he did that a couple of times last night with team mates in "better" positions, but to be honest, the number of times this season we have just tried to pass the ball into the net, I was happy he actually had shots.

He's definitely improving but I'm not going to say £10m was a bargain yet, for a player in the last year of his contract....!

I know I'm in the minority but i don't think he's as "great" as some here think. The other day someone said he had a good game vs Hull. He was awful (along with everyone else). Yes he scored, but he was still not very good!

You don't tend to score worldies without plenty of stinkers in between. I don't see anything wrong with him taking plenty of pot shots. It's not like he's shooting and taking the wrong option all the time, he had plenty of good touches, lay-offs and passes around the box too last night.
