I wonder how long itll be before we start seeing Egeli moved inside.. On this.. those who knew of delap at hull.. when he played on the right prior to his move to us.. was it similar to the egeli role hes been playing? I just wondered if perhaps we are treating egeli similar to how delap was developing prior to joining us. But i definitely feel when we have two inverted wide players we dont seem as dangerous. What does everyone else think..

I haven't seen what some people seem to have seen in Walle Egeli. I'm sure I will in a few year's time and it's not to say I'd rather he wasn't at the club, because he'll probably be a good asset and he has contributed a couple of well finished goals. But if we're talking here and now and a strong push for top two, it's not outrageous to suggest we need a more direct threat down that side. At the moment that means somehow injecting McAteer with some confidence, or getting Burns up to speed incredibly quickly.

Neither are the most technically gifted in the squad but they do possess a raw athleticism, pace and directness with their running. They both have a shanked cross into the bottom tier in their locker but their instinct is to go on the outside, get to the byline, stretch defences. They’re also good off the ball. End product is key, but there’s no doubt they get themselves into good areas. SWE likes to come inside on his left, it doesn’t help us stretch the play and create space for those inside like we see with other profiles in there. I like Egeli, I just don’t think he’s a wide man and don’t think he makes us a better side when he’s in that role tbh.
