Southampton were given two punishments for cheating in two separate competitions.
1. Thrown out of the play-offs for cheating in the play-offs
2. -2 points per game they admitted to cheating to in this years league games to be applied to next season.
Given that they admitted to cheating in two league games, but the cheating started in December, it is questionable whether they have told the truth and this part of the punishment seems somewhat rushed, given they have been taken at their word.
