I think what was positive about the game… on 23:30 - Jun 6 with 1019 viewsunstableblue

… is that it was about acclimatising to serious heat and terrible pitches (I really don’t think they’ll be as bad as the non tournament venue Tampa - Tuchel, Kane and Jude stating how poor it was) - which they did.

BUT also if you merge the best two players form each half, add in two Arsenal players, then that’s our starting 11.

Kane, Rashford, Guehi combined with Bellingham, Anderson, OReilly

I did think Spence looked good

The World Cup pitches will be in great shape they’re all to a very high standard.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Excellent Trumpian comms there!

Saw an interview with Gordon post match and he also confirmed weather and poor pitch management is a real focus for the team. At the moment the players aren’t capable of 45mins in those conditions.

Also saw some England fans pitch side and Tampa was ballistically hot.

BUT, Tampa temps extreme even for this tournament, plus first match in air con. And as stated Tampa isn’t a world cup venue, and can’t see England playing on worse that that.

Big mistake not taking Wharton,
I question stones he's a bloody rolls Royce and no game time, and Henderson good career but over Wharton not so sure

Yup not taking Wharton seems a missed opportunity, BUT:

1) Tuchel sees a chemistry and balance in these characters from one his most successful training/game camps
2) Henderson is like England’s Ashley Young, Sone Aluko. As much a club captain, culture king than a starter.
3) It’s Wharton’s creativity and killer ball we think we’re missing but in Kane, Anderson, and Bellingham we have that - Anderson with a peach last night.

Stones started and played 45mins, that is a good step. Can he get fit at just the right time?
