Watching the Englands games yesterday made me wonder if football has a similar dilemma to cricket?

With cricket there has long been the issue of do you pick the best keeper or the keeper who is a better batsman

Has the way some teams play mean that football has reached a stage where you dont pick the best keeper, but rather a keeper who is a better ball player?
