I think you can still do it so long as there's continued forward movement.

They seem to miss more often than a simple run-up-and-leather-it though, so I shan't complain too much.

I could be wrong but I'm fairly confident as long as you don’t stop at the ball you can stutter. You cannot feint a shot or stop as you go to kick the ball.
