It's not convincing as Hurst had shown himself to be well out of his depth and didn't have a great deal of respect from the players regardless of Doig's alleged failings.

Doig did play at Championship level (mostly in the 1992 - 2004 First Division), 75 games for Nottingham Forest. Plus 2 matches in the Prem.

That's nowhere close to Chambers' 425 (as of QPR), but still a factual inaccuracy - which Chambers would have known - which sheds doubt upon the story.

I dunno, in the heat of the moment people can yell things that are hurtful and have general validity (comparatively little championship experience) whilst not being precisely factually accurate.
