Bitterly disappointed another game where the performance dropped off massively for a long spell of the game.
4 points dropped this week that would have had us in touch with those above us and still just 1 win in 18 games this season.
We look better, but still wonder where the next win will come from.
Still, a point away from home better than nothing but we need significant improvement in January. |  | | |

Night and day performances before and after half time. We are always susceptible to conceding and sitting back inviting pressure onto us you knew it was only going to end one way. Lucky to come away with a point after all that which is pretty sad after a brilliant first 45.
Not sure what caused the massive drop in energy levels after half time, obviously it's hard to keep it up for a full 90 but there was a stark difference. In real big trouble if we can't take 3 points from a game in which we were dominating.

Nothing new under Lambert than under Hurst then? The latter could put together a decent 45 minutes but a lack of consistency killed us. The same thing has happened, to an extent against Preston and definitely today. | |

I mean the first 45 was better than anything Hurst served up, you could see there was an identity of a team forming there.

I just fear that lack of consistency - that we can't put together a decent performance over 90 minutes; Preston was better in that regard, ironically until they went down to ten men. If we can't put teams to the sword or keep them at arms length then we won't be fighting a relegation battle for (relatively) long. | |

Not a confidence thing at all today IMO, it was too sustained. Reading pushed up an extra 15 yards after half time and played us at our own game. It's unfortunately a change of system that I think we dont have the quality at present to answer. PL brought on Jackson and Rowe to exploit any space in behind, but we failed to keep the ball on the deck and decision making under pressure leaves a lot wanting.
Unfair to question energy levels IMO as it seemed a clear tactical change over 45 mins we couldn't cope with. Coincidentally one of my positives, despite needing to beat teams around us, is that I think we'll actually do better against teams that try to play football against us. We dont have the quality under pressure right now to hold on to a lead. |  | | |
