Do we have enough firepower up front to leave it until 09:51 - Nov 16 with 1384 viewsitfcpaul

January?

Just a bit worried thst there aren't enough goals in the team to leave us in touching distance when the transfer window opens.

Love us to sign someone at least short term to give us another option. Sears has been amazing since he came back in but apart from that we don't have much.

Am i missing something here or are you suggesting that we need to field inelligible players?

The only option is presumably you think signing retired footballers makes sense? Would they even be eligible?

In addition to Sears, we do have some goals from elsewhere in the team. Edwards had four (top scorer), Chalobah two. Reckon we might see some from Roberts and Jackson, too.

Yes, another goalscorer would be useful. But we do not want to either upset the developing balance of the team or to introduce someone with fitness/sharpness problems to be an encumbrance or lose them quickly like we did with Walters.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Sears - Roberts -Edwards working really well atm. If they play the way they are atm we will have enough to get through until January.

Think Harrison is back post international break as well.

If the midfield can be reinforced to play the game further upfield & lesss defensive then a tall striker becomes uneccessary and goals may come depending on tactics

Playing a defensive midfield and hoof = no hope

There might be a few. But we should only sign them if likely to be useful between now and New Year, not just for the name, past history or for the sake of it. Which is presumably why Lambert hasn't yet moved in that direction.

We've all written Jackson off but he did bang in a hat-trick for the u23's this week, yes of course it's a far cry from the first team but how many clear cut chances do we provide for him? Very few...it was always going to take him some time here, the pressure to score goals was firmly on his shoulders from day one though...that wasn't his fault.

Supply him properly and he might just stick some away..
