Fascinating how many ex players are picking Pablo as their striker... 19:42 - Apr 24 with 757 viewssparks

Presumably Mr Royle knew better than they did.

The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to the presence of those who think they've found it. (Sir Terry Pratchett)

Pablo was terrific to watch and had great ability. I just found I got frustrated at watching him on occasions, due to the amount of times he'd just throw himself to the floor after hardly being touched by the defender.

Poll: Where are we going to finish?

A few years ago my son was on Xavi's summer football camp. It was run by Xavi's Dad and cousin and to his credit Xavi spent a full day with the kids. At lunch time Xavi went round the tables to answer questions and sign autographs. My son's question was...

Did you enjoy playing with Pablo Couñago?

Xavi replied, sure but Joe Royle ruined him *

* That's not entirely true (although I'm sure that's what he was thinking)

His actual reply was was "sure, but why are you asking me about Pablo?" My son told him his Dad was an Ipswich supporter and Pablo was one of his faves. Xavi said " ahhhh Ipwseeeech Tohn" and then signed his Ipswich boot bag

One more thing, at the end of the day Xavi said that if he scored the next day against Madrid he would dedicate the goal to the kids. He scored in a 5-0 win...

In parallel universe theory if it hadn't been for the Pablo question that beauty would never have happened.
