I remember a smell in Ipswich as a kid around late autumn, I think it was the sugar beet factory in Sproughton. Don't remember it as a particularly nice smell but it was the first sign of Christmas being just round the corner.

I'm like that whenever I visit Felixstowe and get a whiff of the yeast factory - reminds me strongly of my childhood
