Almost certainly saved him. Wonder if the season not finishing meant he wriggled out of any sort of break clause in his contract too? Technically he might have argued he still would've made the playoffs for example, as the season didn't conclude. Perhaps ME thought it easier to keep him and give him a bit more direction rather than risk a sticky legal battle.

I think Lambert would have probably gone at the end of last season if there had been fans in the ground. We were virtually on relegation form when the lockdown started.
