Paul Lambert is the best! 05:56 - Dec 2 with 690 views | wkj | Example of the kind of short sighted approach to recruitment that Marcus Evans has. Although this is a clickbait title, maybe he we see the title and resign to think he's punishing us (as ITFC so totally read this form) [Post edited 2 Dec 2020 5:56]

He really should not have started the season as Town manager, many feel he should never have made it past his inaugural season. Every day from the start of this season has clearly been a day too many.

So you think, from where PL picked up, 12 months is a reasonable amount of time?

Based on his performance last season when we nose dived from top of the table to mid table, absolutely. Yes, Covid cut the season short, and Lambert may have been able to pull it back - but the EFL closed the season, and we finished where we did, and Lambert was the man who made the decisions and he capitulated. This same trend is being repeated right now infront of us. Lambert has no plan B. A good manager will have a contingency plan, and during a period of extreme injuries you don't fit your team into your system, you fit your system around the best available team. Then finally, he banned Phil. Phil did nothing wrong - someone on the forums did (according to Town). Make no mistake about it, Lambert didn't ban Phil because of that - he's always been touchy with Phil. Lambert has now alienated a large cross section of supporters, and the results on the pitch isn't even the leading cause of that dissent for many of us. If you feel the pragmatic approach is correct for evaluating Lambert's position here, you must have a nerve of steel, and are commendable. However, you very much would be an extremely acute minority.

You argue your point well, but I can't help but think we are in a cycle of asking a builder to come in and build us a house. Then when he is still installing the foundations, sacking him, and tell him he is doing a lousy job. The next builder comes along, <repeat> All I would say with PL and Evans, is that at least they now seem to have a strategy, a plan, which I think is a better long term plan, than what Mick Mack was doing, which was just plastering over the cracks.

Given the state of the club when he came in, it's quite impressive he's turned one that could have potentially stayed in the Championship into one that looks mired in the third division in such a short space of time.

And if you caught that builder filling the footings with sand, would you allow him to carry on just to see how out all turned out?

If it become apparent you've employed a cowboy to fix up your house, it would be foolish to get him to do your roof when you've just sat and watch him b*gger up an extension.

But where has he used sand here?

Pretty much all over the whole building. And he's telling you that the sand is actually 'top quality stone'. And on top of that, he's just started calling your utterly inoffensive balding neighbour a c*nt in public as well. [Post edited 2 Dec 2020 7:04]

There are a lot of available and talented mangers out there right now, and this is the time a management change is needed to give them the best possible chance of success. Lambert's words alone have isolated him, Evans poor management has isolated the fans. Things need to change across the board if we are to succeed.

He didn't come in and get us solidified. He led us to relegation without so much as a fight. The team had no belief from the start and he was too busy pissing about trying to be everyone's mate with the fans than firing up the players. You clearly missed last year where the starting line ups were barely resembling each other from week to week. The club is on its knees and he is already blaming everyone else. That you are speaking about forming foundations flies in the face of all evidence.

That's the worrying thing with Evans. He might wait until the season is irretrievable before acting.
