They check lbw when no one asked for that and didn't see the catch they were being told about. No common sense to not listen and go back to it

I’m fairly sure that Root pressed the point after the lbw check and the umpire told him they had looked at what he wanted and that was fine too.

Root needs to summon his internal Mike Gatting.
