"We are unique, we have a proud heritage and great traditions, and we are itching to recreate the happy times at Portman Road once again. The pent- up frustrations of all supporters is, I sense, ready to burst into an unstoppable force for progress in this new era. "

I knew I liked that guy.

He has a real point we have a passionate, hardcore and large scale fan base that was forged in the exciting and dynamic football seen in the early 80s and through the 90s into the start of the millennium - in atmospheres at Portman Road that people forget were just so intense and passionate.

Town's fans have been praised again with Premier League chief Richard Scudamore using the Portman Road atmosphere as an example of one Premiership ground that hasn't become more like a library. 0

The cr@p football served up under EVERY Marcus manager has destroyed this, fever pitched support - we need it back

That fan base have been starved of the football brand they need since really the exit of Joe Royle, we need it back, we need to burst back again into the happy times!!!

Poll: How many points will Town get from 5 (Wat, Boro, Hull, Cov, Hudd)?

Think you’re being a bit unfair to the 70s there. We averaged over 20,000 for home league matches for the whole decade, compared to the Duncan era of the 80s where it was around 12,000. Notably the only other decade to average over 20,000 was the naughties.
