While the government and its backers in the billionaire-owned media are busy whipping up fears of desperate folk making the hazardous journey across the Channel in little boats in search of a better life, one thing they're not telling you about is the fact that the UK’s Vaccines Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (VMIC) — unveiled with great fanfare by the government just a couple of years ago — is now up for sale.
The facility has received £215 million of public money since it was first unveiled and was intended to plug a structural gap in the UK’s capabilities for late-stage vaccine manufacturing process development. It was claimed at the time that it would act as a key tool to accelerate the development of new and innovative vaccines to combat some of the world’s most prevalent diseases.
Apparently, it's now been decided that such capabilities are no longer needed. I mean, it's not as if there's a pandemic going on or anything, right? As such, it will go into private hands, and any future vaccines produced there will, of course, be sold at market prices back to us, and paid for out of yet more public money.
For anyone looking for Covid conspiracies, here's one hiding in plain sight: the super-rich are conducting business as usual under our very eyes, screwing yet more money out of the system and funneling into the private sector that backs them.
Socialism for the rich, capitalism for the poor.

Yes. Too much of a pattern here and an accepted narrative about “the way the world works”.
But no, that’s nonsense. Building on your last line, we have a supposedly free and functioning market economy, except that it’s one that socialises losses and privatises profit.
It’s all out of kilter. To the benefit of a narrow slice of the population, who just happen to be the ones lobbying, donating and/or backscratching the major parties. In return for tax payer money by the billions. |  |
