The present crop of players will get promoted don't disagree with the out goings . But when one or two key players are out we are sadly lacking
Maybe the owners are waiting for the summer to try again.

Maybe give the new manager more than six games before writing off the squad

62 - 78 - 81

What were we supposed to do, swap another half dozen players? Ultimately how the season finishes was always going to be down to McKenna's ability to get a tune out of the players we already have here.

I’m hoping that’s the case although we have players in the squad a plenty but are they good enough going by results and our season so far seems to back that up.

Makes perfect sense. Give it a go and try to forge a style with what's left of the season. Slim to no chance of play offs so see how we go.

Then in the Summer, Mck will know what he needs etc.

Trouble is, it’s very hard to have a squad with 3-4 first team senior pros in each position. It’s unaffordable and you can’t keep them all happy. Take the weekend with Morsy, Evans, Carroll all (to a lesser extent) Fraser all unavailable for those 2 midfield slots. That’s just bad luck (combined with Morsy’s stupidity) and we have to rely on the fringe players to step up. Any team would in that position.

I thought we could have got around that by playing Celina as a deeper playmaker (he’s done so in the past occasionally and looked good). In the absence of that, it falls to playing El Miz and Bakinson. And at least we had them. Many teams would have had to play players out of position to plug a gap like that.

Have you seen our record over the weeks since McKenna joined? WWLWWL, 12 points from a possible 18. Including several matches with rotation or arguably second-choice players in the starting lineup.

You still think there's no chance we can get promoted with the squad at our disposal?

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

For me a very slight chance, but we'd have to beat mk oxford and Plymouth nothing less,
Wigan got the jump on us but we probably need them to win the division at a canter as they play everyone around us,
Yes I no we have to as well,

The OP didn't say "this season" - that is a tall order whatever squad we have (but not impossible). I took it that he meant we needed wholesale change to go up even next season. Which is ridiculous.
