Strikers next season? 09:59 - Mar 27 with 576 viewsDubtractor

I know we've had a few threads on this over the last few weeks, but what the hell, how about another? Mainly for my thoughts on Norwood tbh.

I'm going to safely assume Norwood is gone - that was another goal he didn't remotely celebrate despite playing a key role. No question on his commitment on the pitch, but he doesn't want to be here anymore does he? He's had an odd career with us hasn't he? Scored a few goals, missed lots of chances too, divided the room on a few many occasions to ever really get much love from our fanbase.

Bonne again looks a shadow of the player from earlier in the season. I think he is good enough overall, but definitely not worth busting the wage budget for, which I think we'd need to do. I'm sure we could get better for less is my thinking.

Pigott needs a move for both his and our benefit. We did some good transfer business last Summer, but his signing stands out as a poor one. We'll probably have to swallow some of his wages though.

Jackson has clearly shown enough to be an effective player in McKenna's system and I expect he'll stay.

Yesterday was yet another game that we should have comfortably put to bed well before the end, and I think getting one or two much more incisive strikers could make us a really formidable team. A big summer ahead on that front and it will be fascinating to see who we end up with.

I think he needs to be the main man somewhere, which he certainly won't be here. Since McKenna has come in, he's constantly rotated that central striker and explained it as 'horses for courses' but in reality I'm not sure he's really completely happy with Bonne/Norwood/Pigott. Jackson was beginning to be a shoe in before his injury.

I think we will 'go big' on a striker in the summer.
