Not a single win against the 4 promoted sides this season on 19:20 - Apr 2 with 806 views | HighgateBlue | If we'd performed against the 4 promoted sides (none of whom are in the top 10) as we have on average against other sides in the division, we would be in the playoff positions. Maybe there's a reason for this, maybe it's just random chance. If there is a reason, I can't for the life of me work out what it is. Complacency? Arrogance? Not sure. Not a great day at the office today, but I guess we go again. The chances of winning 5 in a row if we can't score at home against Cambridge Utd must be close to zero.

Is it that shocking? The promoted sides will generally aim to be solid and difficult to break down. They will start the season with confidence from their previous campaign. They currently sit 11th, 12th, 13th and 21st. To fail to beat any of them once, is not good but to say shocking is an overstatement. We threw away the matches against a couple of them too. We need to improve across the board in picking up more points especially early in the season which is when we took 2 points from 4 matches against these teams. It has also been more recent that our failure to score goals has become a problem. This has seen us take 2 points from the most recent 4 matches against them. We have, generally, put the right the early season failings. We now need to address the later season one. I am confident that McKenna will.

No, the reason is we played them all early in the season when we were poor and threw away leads and then we played the return matches more recently where we have struggled to score. The fact it is this collection of teams is a coincidence as much as anything.

Of course it’s shocking if you’re serious about trying to get promoted. Wednesday put 6 past Cambridge. I’m not sure we had 6 shots. Anyway, what’s done is done and the future is still bright. Roll on next season.

I am sure we could look at the results against the bottom 4, or the top 6, or the mid-table 4 sides and say the same. We are 9th for a reason. It is no more shocking than us being 9th. There are reasons why we were poor at the start of the season and reasons why we are still not good enough now. Just got to give it time.

Not a single win against the 4 promoted sides this season on 19:38 - Apr 2 with 666 views | BigCommon | Even split.. 2pts under Cook, 2pts under KM..... Sometimes it's the players need to grab these games by the scruff... We've seem to play with lead in our boots and lower concentration levels against these sides... It's hard to fathom... But there's at least 10pts there, gone begging..IMO.
